Small Long Legged Fly

From last week in my yard. The Bee shot is just for size comparison. Some shots are the same, but cropped.

Great shots you have there! What glass did you use?

As a former bug shooter... who also has the vivi 105. My hats off to you!

These are as sharp and well exposes as any fly shots I have seen.

The lighting is perfect.

It says the flash was not used.... did you use reflectors or some other trick to get such even lighting?

Thanks for the replies. I set the camera to manual on most of these with a little under exposure and I used the manual flash with 1/2 power and a paper napkin to dampen it a little. Also had a curved plastic piece on top of the flash for a little indirect lighting.

Great stuff, nice and sharp, good lighting, good background, good composition, all the elements coming together.

These are very, very nice macros of a small fly. Your lighting setup works well. Thanks for posting them
