Late autumn infrared
Posted by elkarrde, 11-03-2009, 04:44 AM elkarrde is offline

as a general rule, landscapes looks the best when sunbathed, so, last week i decided to catch an opportunity, and give my IR filter a spin.

i had to catch those short moments of sun shining through the clouds, but in return, i got some nice results. here's the one:

taken with K100D Super, DA18-55 kit lens, cheap 720nm infrared filter. shot in raw, custom WB. swapped red and blue channel, edited in photoshop.

i hope you like it.

That a very good shot. I like the color. IR is always a challenge and you captured it well. Nice work.

thank you!
K100Ds makes shooting IR easier with it's IR-sensitive sensor - my average shutter speed with 720nm filter is consistently around 1/8 - 1/4, at base ISO. with some care taken, it's almost hand-holdable. of course, you need some sun, too.

I have had a friend talk about IR filters and converting a camera. Never had an interest but wow this has got me thinking. Excellent work. Love the colors.
