Marina Morning

Here are both color and B&W versions of a shot I took early one morning at the marina a few weeks ago. Neither is particularly striking, but I've been photographically "sluggish" recently, and I thought PPing and posting an image might give me a kick in the pants.

Well in this case I prefer the color. Why? I don't know. First Base! Hey Abbott.

But I feel your pain. Haven't been doing much other than G4 snapshots as of late. Stopped shooting professionally a couple years ago and just let it go. Hadn't really even picked up a real camera until May 09.

I also prefer the color - the boats in the center work here as the masts peak at the top and the reflections fill in the bottom. Then again wtf do I know (other than what I like )

I hear ya ... even while I was in Vegas creatively in a slump as per photography - hardly took any shots there .....and not much the last month actually. Another trip comming up (this is not the norm by any means just this year a few fell back to back kinda thing) - hope that will spark the passion again.

I prefer the color one, as well. I've got a bunch of hobbies - right now I'm in sports car mode and photography (and even sailing!) has taken something of a back seat (if there were one in a roadster). Part of the ebb and flow - I'll get back after it in a bit.

Thanks, Dave. I've taken numerous photos focused (no pun intended) only on marina reflections. I've probably posted some over the years, but can't remember for sure. Maybe I'll take a look in the files to see if something like you're suggesting is there and worth posting.

Hey Buddy, nice to know I'm not the only one. I appreciate your comments - I like the color one better myself - but hey, I do the best I can for what they pay me.

Like the colour one, although find it a little on the cool side.
B&W is very well done - I like it even more than the colour one as is.

I like the B&W more. Dunno why, maybe just because it pops out at me more.

Thanks, my friend. You're pretty perceptive. I played with the white balance and color saturation of first image - which brought it to the cool side - primarily experimenting for the sake of doing so.
