Excellent photo. I can just imagine his accent when he speaks. Do you show your subjects their photos afterwards? (If you can find them again?) I wonder what they think of them? This is a great portrait. The life he's led is written all over his face.

A story told in a simple portrait.
Well done with this one mate.
It's well captured in all aspects.

Heckuva portrait, great B&W conversion.

The fact that he's homeless and yet has ear-bling seems weird.

He is an alcoholic, you can see it in his nose, yet his eyes show life and his beard is well kept.
I also noticed he has gold in his ears, would get him a drink or too on the streets.

Great portrait, one which is more than just what's in the picture.

I like the composition of this portrait. The way he looks up and your position under his eyes gives him a dignity that a man must no loose even in this poor condition. Congratulations and my admiration once more time.

Thanks very much, guys.

Taff, are you serious about his nose determinin' whether he is alcoholic or not? I would really like to know if this is true. Thanks.

Many long-time alcoholics have red, bulbous noses. Alcohol is a diuretic, which degrades the smoothness and elasticity of skin, and also dilates blood vessels. Liver damage caused by alcohol is often exhibited by skin blemishes, rosacea, pitting, etc.
