My first shot with my (new to me) K Lens
Posted by Pioneer, 11-06-2009, 09:30 PM Pioneer is offline

I just received my new SMC Pentax 200mm f/2.5 lens in the mail today (thanks to dadipentak). This is a terrific lens and I could not resist posting my first picture. This was taken with my K200D resting on my jacket on the hood of my Jeep just north of town. ISO 100, f/8, 1/640s, no filters. Shot in RAW, converted with AdobeRAW, auto adjust brightness and contrast. This is what came out. I am already in love with this lens!

A telephoto landscape capture.
Cool.
Enjoy the fine set of glass you've just acquired.

The K 200/2.5 is my favourite MF lens and I'm sure you will enjoy it even more as you get used to it.

Nice landscape and good colours - although I can't help but think that I would like to see more foreground (land)
I know it's just a 'new lens' shot, but thought I would mention.

Have fun with the lens!

Thank you for your observation. I agree that it would be a much nicer shot if I had something of interest leading into the shot. I really need to see if I can find a better spot to set up for this shot. From where I took the shot there were several high line power poles marching across the country and I was trying to avoid capturing them.
