Details of nature
Posted by maleek, 06-25-2007, 04:21 PM maleek is offline

This time of year sure makes for good opportunities for experiencing nature. I have taken two photos I wanted to share with you guys and gals. The colour one I took with a recently aquired FA 55 mm 1.4 (thanks Duplo!). The black and white with my manual SMC Takumar 55 mm 1.8.

Take care!

Thanks for your kind words. And there is no confusion on your behalf. It's screw mount alright.

That second photo look very nice . I see some screw mount lens in my area for sale often and cheap , too ! So don't mind me asking some stupid questions :

How is it using the 55/1.8 ? Easily or complicated ?

What kind of adapter you get : Pentax or 3rd party ?

Thanks in advance :-)

Thats not stupid.

Of course the manual lenses are somehwat more challenging to use due to lack of autofocus and auto-exposure. I found it hard to get the focus spot on with people using the largest aperture, if I stop down a little it gets easier though. It's not for snapshots (for me at least, but I think it's a matter of training as well), but if you are willing to plan your shots a little it is very rewarding.

I use the Pentax adapter. I actually bought a third-party version from Hong Kong first, but it did not work properly. Some people say that there is third party versions that work fine. But I was out of luck I guess. :
