Waterfall Hunting (Lots of photos)
Posted by Alvin, 07-02-2007, 03:28 AM Alvin is offline

A friend and I decided to go out on Friday to hunt for a waterfall. This was what we found and it was about 20 minutes away from home. Enjoy!

Part III...The party begins.

So my buddy and I are wrapping up and this group arrives. Boy were they a riot! The guys in the group decide to model for me after asking me to post a photo of one of them jumping into the waterfall. It was a great opportunity to test out my new flash! Kit lens used for all shots, some with lots of cropping.

Nice series, Alvin. There are quite a few waterfall shots here and they are all great places to visit for sure!

It seems a nice day out in the wild

Number eight is the best one with the light on the water at the bottom of the waterfall.

Great series of shots Alvin. I too especially likes number 8; the contast of dark and light works really well. You are fortunate with photogenic volunteer models turning up.

Thanks, James! There were TONS of dragonflies and butterflies there - I wish I had a macro lens! Not to mention the mosquitos and flies eating both of us (yikes!) BTW, how do you keep those bugs off you when you're out shooting?

I'm making plans to revisit this waterfall after my friend and I find a few more waterfalls around us!

Tim and Paul - Thanks! #8 surprised my friend and I because of the challenging sunlight filtering in from the tree canopy. The light was causing us to constantly over or underexpose.

I wanted to get some better shots of the moss and rocks but it will have to wait until I can make another visit.

Oh, Paul - those guys were litterally hamming it up for the cam, striking more poses than I was ready for! They were awesome!
