Thanks! Traffic was not bad at all- super light compared to Atlanta on any day, lol.

---------- Post added 04-13-24 at 12:04 AM ----------

For this eclipse, I had ordered 6 pair of nice eclipse glasses months ago (the source only sold then in packages of 6). So I packed all of them for the trip. As we were sitting on the side of the narrow rural road waiting for the eclipse, a couple stopped their car next to us on the road, and the woman rolled down the window and introduced herself. They were there for the eclipse from New Zealand. She asked whether we "might have a spare pair of eclipse glasses":lol: I said, "let me see what I can do", and handed two pair of individually packaged glasses to them. Hahaha that made my day!

Thanks so much!
I visited a friend who lives in Round Rock TX. Tickets to Austin on Delta were ~$1100 4 months ago from Atlanta! So I miraculously made it there, and we drove to the center line, on an old one-lane country road. That part was smooth I guess, but it was 90%+ overcast. I managed to get a few shots before totality through holes in the clouds but as the time approached, a huge area of dark clouds arrived! Doom set in, lol. And then, maybe 3 minutes before totality, the clouds opened up, and there was the Sun! Still a bit hazy, but this lasted the entire 4+ minutes!

I believe this was the last year you could buy a new SV650. They have replaced it with an all-new 700 parallel-twin with a 270 crank.

As a kid in Alabama, I had a Honda Sport 50 (they let 14-year-olds ride those on the street lol), and in High school an old Suzy X6 Hustler, and later a Suzuki 550 triple for many thousands of miles, a wonderful 350 Yamaha, followed by a Kawi 500 Mach 3 that I found used for a song... The Kawi was a true widow maker! It handled like it had a spring hinge in the middle of the frame, the power band was razor-sharp with expansion chambers added, like a light switch- causing high-speed tank slappers! But I lived. Then came the CB750 and ahhh, the difference. I had several other machines, including an original great Suzy 750 4- fantastic bike. I had an original SV650 and rode it for years, wish I still had one. Currently, I have a 2003 SV1000S, a 2008 GSX650F, and the RE650. I just love the RE. It's like riding an old Brit twin but without any of the drawbacks. The exhaust note is awesome with the 90-degree crank and S&S cans.
Edit- I somehow forgot to mention the '68 XLCH!! Was awesome when it ran.

One model was still produced in England until 1970, when all production commenced in India. They modernized design and production in recent years, while retaining that classic look and feel, air-cooling, etc. Great fun in an affordable package- love it.

Thanks! In pro mode, the video on this phone allows you to adjust the exposure somewhat. While the clouds were passing by, I noticed that there was a moment in the footage when the exposure was just right.

Yes, a 650 twin, with a 90-degree crank. It's somewhat shorter and generally more compact than a Bonnie, and also a lot less expensive. Sort of skinny tires, but it handles very nicely. Just under 50 HP, so it definitely isn't a rocket- but there's no problem keeping up with any traffic. I have Renthal bars, short levers, the small screen, and those AWESOME S&S cans on it among other stuff. They come with those nice braided lines. So far it's been a joy.

Thanks, everyone! I actually figured this out after I posted- sorry for the confusion. It's the KP that has a 2.5mm socket. I will be making some videos!

I used to shoot video occasionally with my KP using a Rode mic. I've never used my K3.3 for video, but plan to in a week. However, the mic jack is smaller on the camera than the one on the KP. What size is the socket? I need to find an adaptor ASAP...

Thanks! I love this bush. It's almost 14 ft tall and has been next to my place since I moved there in '99.

Thanks!
