Just bit of straighten up and kept the bike in for a panoramic perspective. Can't figure out what it is, though?
Also, that 18-55 is a good copy - one click CA removal!

Well the time has come, folks.
The biggest problem for me was that every submission had elements that I was hoping would be interpreted the way I
remember the scene on the day - other than the monochrome versions, of course!
Oh yeah - Kerrodown's penchant for titling his work - love it, thanks.
I have to give special mention to todd, who had two red-hot goes and came so close to P1, and Frank’s determination to
make me bleed from excessive scratching!
But, then along came Fdooch with his ‘old masters’ rendition that took it somewhere I wasn’t expecting, but has won the chocolates.
Congrats Fdooch - over to you.

Thanks, Des. Much appreciated.
They have become more common around here since the 20-30 year maturation of planted natives.
This little bloke has been visiting outside my home office front window for about 6 months, even thought bush he uses is a Rosemary.
I think home-base is around the side of the house in a dense pack of Lilly-pillies - not sure.

Hundreds of exposures to catch this Brown Thornbill, a regular visitor with a very strong voice for such a tiny creature.

Thanks to everyone so far.
It's quite difficult for me to choose a winner, so I'll leave this open until Saturday the 17th. for a little more head scratching.

Thanks all.
Okay. I'll scrub that version and post another ---------- Post added 02-10-24 at 10:16 AM ---------- Okay. After the whole process getting stuck in numerous loops, I think it may work now. Please go to my first post for the new link.
Fingers crossed!!

Sorry about that. How about going straight to mediafire.com and look up PP#500 in the list?
Also, any other forum members, could you try the link and let me know, please?
Cheers

Thanks for the heads up Noelcmn.
Hmm.
I just tried it, and it worked okay.
You do know it is a DNG? Haven't loaded a jpeg

Thanks to todd and all participants.
Love a good early model Corvette!
This is a merge of 2 images. The Grampians lie in Mid Western Victoria, Australia, as a stand alone mountain range. This image was taken at the southern end near the small town of Dunkeld
Link to DNG - NO! What a debacle. Please go to post #11 for the alternative.
Looking forward to the interpretations.

Okay folks, looks like we’re done here. Challenge #496 draws to a close.
Thanks to all participants.
I noticed just about everyone deleted that pesky power line, but a big shout out to Kerrowdown for noticing the only character going against the flow, and off to the rubbidy!
In the end it was literally a toss-up between Kerrowdown and xs400, with xs400 coming out the winner.
Congratulations, I was particularly taken by the vignette treatment that was only enhanced by the conversion to b+w.
Also a mention to tuggie76 for the lone coloured figure I hoped someone would have a shot at, noelcmn for his b+w conversion and todd’s ‘metalicised’ (to me) variation.
So, xs400 - over to you!
Cheers

Thanks again to everyone.
This is an Ektachrome64 tranny from 1974, taken with a Spotmatic II and a Tamron 350mm (can't remember what aperture it was). This is Melbourne Australia taken from the observation level of a building that no longer exists - the National Mutual Centre.
Digitised with the K-3III and D FA 100 Macro in 2021.
I've always liked the composition, lighting and colour juxtapositions. Have mucked around with it pre-digitally, making various Cibachrome and b+w prints from it, and of course digitally with Photoshop, and I'm still looking for that special something.
Maybe it's not there, but anyhow, here it is for anyone who has ideas. Please have at it.
I suppose we'll run it for a week or so - let's see
Good Luck! https://www.mediafire.com/file/t6xv4gmq05txv19/_IMG2734_1.dng/file |
