Just curious how everyone keeps on top of the newest threads, so as not to miss anything.
I have been going into User CP > Quicklinks > Today's Posts each day to see what's out there. However, I wish there was a way to either (a) sort by Forum name, or (b) search by specific forums. That way, I could minimize my search results to those I want most to stay on top of.
Any suggestions?

True Ed but it only shows the links you started not all you have participated in. I check the same as above. Somewhere there is a link that shows a search function here that will show all the threads you are in. It is not easy as others site. This is not a complaint just a fact.
If you go to your Members tab and find yourself you can click Find All Posts by (it will say your screenname here). That will show all your posts. Kind of the hard way but save it as a favorite to open from there and it could be easier.

I do the same thing... I'm wishing there was also a way to see which threads I have participated in, just like "My Threads" at DPReview.
Sorting the forums would be nice, but not necessary.

Agreed .. the way I;ve kept on top of the ones I have participated in is by Subscribing to the threads, then categorizing them in my folders.
My bigger concern is 'missing' a good thread that I may need if I have not participated in it. I thought I had it figured out -- I went into Advanced Search and highlighted the forums I want to limit (I left out ones such as P&S, News & Rumors, etc .. because I dont need to keep on top of those). It even had a "Save Search Criteria" option, I thought I was on my way! I would save that Search, and re-run it every time I log in ... however I needed to enter a specific thing to search for, or a specific user name .. and I did not want to do that.
Back to Square One!

You can "subscribe" to forums and threads using the "Forum Tools" and "Thread Tools" menu at the top of each respecting page. And inside your User CP you'll see a side menu area for "Subscribed Threads" where you can view them in one shot. Options under User CP also allows you to control how you are notified of new posts/threads based on your subscriptions.
Good points by all in regard to how to keep on top of threads you have already seen/posted in .. let me try to narrow down exactly what I am looking to do.
To look at BRAND NEW threads across multiplde forums, I typically go to Quick Links > Today's Posts. Is there anyway to sort or modify that list to isolate the specific forums I am interested in scanning?

Not exactly sort and isolate. My "technique" is simply to pop open any unread forum in which I am interested, scan the highlighted headings where there are posts since my last visit, and read what interests me. Then I mark the forum read. Next time in I look for the blue icon and repeat.

Thanks, that's similar to what I have been doing .. except, how do you mark it read without opening the full thread? I've looked for that option, and must have missed it ...

Hi Andrew,
You can actually do that even though I haven't made a single link for it:
-Go to PentaxForums.com - Search Forums
-Type in your username in the text box on the right
-Select the "show results as threads" radio button in the lower left
-Click search!
If you've posted in more than 500 threads, only the most recent 500 will be shown.
I just show the whole forum and go through it all section by section. The ones I've submitted to show up with a little arrow on the icon (in simple mode or whatever it's called). I don't get here every day, and I want to see the ones that I haven't contributed to also.

There are two ways to mark the whole forum read. On the right, there are some menu items. Click [Forum Tools], [Mark this forum read]
or
Exit the forum, and double click the forum icon (dark blue, extreme left). It will then turn wimpy green as read.
I have to do this to mark some forums read because a prolific poster who increases my blood pressure with his inanities caused me to set him to ignore status. When he starts a thread, I don't even see the thread, but either of the above two methods clears it.
