signatures showing up in ever post...

can the admin or whoever, change it so that everyones signature only shows up once per page? You have to do it in VB options I believe. It will cut down on scrolling a bit......

Hi Dave,

As far as I know, that's not a vB option. You can turn of signature display completely via the User CP, though, so you'll just be seeing the raw posts.

The scrolling really does get annoying...that's why I'm trying to limit signature length

I know for a fact there is a script or something you can write into VB, I help run a VB forum myself. Our version is newer though, maybe that is the problem? I'll look around to see if I can find it...

We're running the latest version of vB (3.6.4), but a plugin for the sigs would be nice.

Still, though, this matter is highly subjective, and while some would like the change, others would find it a bit to hectic.

Regardless, thanks for your input, and I'll see what I can do

the users will not have to do anything. You input a line into one of the config files and you're set.

Let me get a dog into this race.

I personally like a sig on every post and don't feel the little extra scrolling is a bother at all. Mainly it helps me quickly spot a certain poster in a long thread.

Maybe limit sigs to certain sizes so they're not too intrusive.

And that's why I haven't implemented the template change.

We could also use a plugin that only adds your signature if your post is longer than x words- a value of 40 would make it fair to those with "meaty" posts

Then again, the post table height doesn't even change in most cases- see posts #6&7- so why bother?

I think it'd be best to leave everything as it is right now
