Closing Thread

I am seeing more and more threads being closed. Some for good reasons, some without much warning or indications.

Is this the new policy?

Here's one example:
If I were a Nikon or Canon user...

There were some heated exchanges, but no insults, no swearing etc. And not any more off topic than the first post anyways. Suddenly the thread was closed without a word from the mod who closed it.

My concern is that we know a few individuals would keep bringing up the same issues over and over again in various different threads (similar to the closed thread above); and you would get the expected response to those "issues". So we will end up having all those threads closed for exactly the same reason or under the same circumstances.

I would prefer having those "inappropriate" exchanges deleted (after warning) or moved to other places rather than closing the thread. Just my 2 cents.

It is not our policy to close threads without notice- I always post a message in each thread that I close.

Post deletions are rarely required, but I will see to it that they are done when needed to avoid pointless rambling in threads. Thanks for posting your comments in this matter!
