Search field does not like numbers?

It seems every time I put in a search that has numbers in it the vBulletin search comes up empty. For example if I search for "18-250" the search tells me there are no posts matching the search terms. However if I move over to google and search this string:

"18-250" site:PentaxForums.com - Pentax Photography Forum

I get the number of hits I am expecting as the 18-250 has come up in posts/thread titles quite a bit. Forgive me if this has been brought up before but I thought I would ask.

You must include at least one letter with any numeric/symbolic search term- otherwise the internal search won't work. A search for 18-250mm will give you plenty of results, however.

And, again, this is why we have the Google search form on PentaxForums.com - Search Forums. If you need to search for camera and lens model names that are purely numeric, or are shorter than 4 characters long, use it!

This is hopefully something I can improve on in the distant future, but for now this is how it's staying.

No worries. The drop down search box is alpha-numeric gotcha. For everything else I'll use the google search. Thanks for the clarification!
