iPhone

Please incorporate a link somewhere on the site that allows me to view the regular web page. Not the mobile version. It would be very helpful. Thanks Fred

Can't you just google it, then follow the link to the real site. Usually that works on my phone when I don't want the mobile version. However, on the full site, even your iphone would have a tough time viewing threads that contain all photos.

I just want to comment that I love the mobile version. It is the fastest loading page that I regularly visit and when I am underground on public transportation (using EDGE), it is quite handy. That being said, an easy way to revert to the normal format would be nice.

Go to your user CP options, scroll down to the bottom, and select "no" under the mobile skin preference. Your phone will then use the regular version of the site- see the other thread in the suggestion forum for details.

If you have a blackberry, you can easily switch between the skins by going into your browser preferences and switching between blackberry and ie/firefox as the browser ID.

And yup, the mobile skin proved invaluable when I was in Europe as well- low bandwidth, easy access, and quick loading!

I don't know exactly what you mean, but I'm assuming you're referring to my earlier post. The blackberry's browser has an option that lets you change its useragent, which is a parameter that tells our website what sort of browser you're using. Thus, if you change the value of this parameter to "IE" or "firefox", instead of "blackberry", you'd see the full version of the site, and not the mobile version.

For all other phones and mobile devices, the only way to override the mobile skin is to set the appropriate option in the User CP, as I mentioned above. And you have to be logged in!
