Was wondering if it had been thought of to take the images that have won the 12 monthly photo competitions for 2009 and creating a calendar for 2010. Thoughts?
Something's telling me that this has been suggested before, and that I liked the idea, but was prevented from doing it for some reason or another.
I'd very much like to make a calendar, but the main issue I see is image sizing. I'd have to contact every previous contest winner and request a resolution along the lines of 200dpi or higher (and if that person is unreachable, there goes one page of the calendar!). The 800-pixel contest photos definitely won't cut it in print!
Regardless, go I'll see if it can be done. Does anyone have some suggestions as far as printing companies go? I don't think CafePress makes calendars.
To get around the loss of high-res images along the way, perhaps if this project gets off the ground (or is planned to be), then winners of each month can post/e-mail the high-res images to you (or whoever will be in charge of its design) to be kept for this purpose.
For the monthly winners that can not be found, just go with the second / third ..... place images. Its the end of September, it might not be too bad to try to line up the first 9 months for 2009......
In December, count up the number that can not be found, then select alternatives to fill in the voids.

This is what I had in mind as well. Honestly, I would hang a 2011 (with 2010's 12 pictures) calendar in my cubicle and at home in a heartbeat.
I did half a dozen calanders for family members last year, I used the apple software on my home computer, the quality was extremly nice, but it was really expensive like $22 each.
Where I work does a couple thousand calanders every year I will find out who does it for them. I can't imagine that they are paying anywhere near that.
