Can't leave feedback for the Marketplace

I've just tried to leave feedback for another member and I got a message telling me I wasn't authorised to do so because I wasn't a site supporter or a Pentaxian

I'm definitely a paid up supporter. Is there a glitch in the system??

You are probably trying to leave feedback for yourself. Check out this guide for details on how to leave feedback: http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/p...ack-guide.html

If you're still getting an error, please paste the URL of the page giving you the error in this thread.

+1

Here's the thread I'm supported to leave feedback for -
[SOLD] 2-52mm UV Filters

The leave feedback button directed me to a leave comment page instead, and the same error msg popped up when I clicked submit:

http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/feedback_detail.php

Last edited by knyghtfall; 10-31-2009 at 10:24 AM. Reason: added URL of error page

I checked this and could not replicate the error.

When I opened this link when logged in as you, no error occurred: http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/f...v-filters.html

Follow that link to leave feedback for your seller.

Feedback links to leave feedback for yourself will no longer be shown at all. Hope that clears up any confusion in the future; let me know if you still need help.

Still not working

Still having the same problem. I've tried a direct link from the thread and I've tried to leave feedback via the persons profile page.

I get the same message as knyghtfall

Please copy-and-paste the URL of the page giving you the error, and I'll take a look.

After logging into your account, I did not get any errors when I opened http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/f...x-me-body.html. I then proceeded to submit the feedback as a test, and got no error either. This is very puzzling!

Therefore, I've now left feedback for your seller on your behalf. If you would like to edit the contents of the feedback (I've entered a placeholder for the comment), please let me know what to change it to. It also seems that your seller has already returned the feedback

Thanks Adam. The feedback you've left is fine. I've also sent a follow-up PM to the member. Hopefully the problem will sort itself out before I need to leave any more feedback.

Thanks Adam for all the work on this issue.. However, I still get the same error screen. The difference I see at the [SOLD] thread is that I cannot no longer see the 'leave feedback' option on my post. I went to the feedback page by clicking on the option on gphickey's post, but encountered the same error message, which I enclose below:

==========
Dear knyghtfall, you do not have permission to access this page or feature.

This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. You are trying to post a new item for sale in the Marketplace, and you do not meet the conditions to do so. You must either be a Pentaxian or Site Supporter to use the Marketplace. Donate to gain access!

2. You are trying to make a post or thread in a locked or administrative forum.
Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?

3. If you just registered, your account may still be awaiting e-mail conformation; you may not post until you click the activation link e-mailed to you following registration.
===============

Heh. Its ironic (given the other thread that started this whole episode, I think) but i rather liked the previous feedback system, other than the part that it required the user to input the sale thread, which I thought could be automated. Other than that it was fine.

In any case, it is very demoralising when such bugs crop up despite all the hard work put in. I thought it would be very fitting then to thank Adam for his dedication in keeping pentax forums running for all the users here - your work is much appreciated!

Ok, a few things here.

1. There is no new feedback system. I've only improved the interface and accessebility a little bit.
2. I intentionally removed the feedback link in your postbit because you cannot leave feedback for yourself (if you try to do so, you will get the error message you pasted above).
3. I logged into your account again, and tried the link in gphickey's post, which returned no errors. Do you get any errors when you click this link?: http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/f...v-filters.html
4. AFAIK there are currently no bugs in the system, it's all been user error so far

Don't know if this will help but this is the first message I got when I tried to leave feedback:

Are you sure you would like to leave feedback for (user name removed for this post)? Note that you can only leave feedback for users with whom you had a Marketplace transaction.

Then there's two buttons: OK or cancel

I tried to get into the feedback system through the "leave feedback" button in the sellers first post of his ad, so I definitely wasn't trying to leave feedback for myself.

Signed,
Still confused

I have exactly the same experience. And I guess we both have followed the steps as outlined. I can't see how it could be user error.

The reason why I thought it is a new system is because I have left feedback on this forum before. The latest feedback screen is get is very different from the once that I remember - the former one had fields for you to indicate if it was a positive, neutral or bad experience, 1 line to be displayed to all, and an additional field for further information. The screen I get when I now click on the 'leave feedback' option (after going through the pop-up screen carlb stated) is now just one textbox for me to fill in comments. Thereafter when I filled in comments and click submit, i get the error message.
