[SOLD] Tokina 80-400mm ATX

This is the first version, the one without the tripod collar. It is in excellent condition - clean glass, no marks or scratches on metal, perfect rubber. Includes the original soft case, hood and caps.

Edit 2/18/09
Price reduction to $475 including free shipping to CONUS, contact me about shipping elsewhere

Edit 2/11/09:
I know this is an old thread - I tried to sell this last year, didn't get the response I wanted, but I recently saw that the same lens sold here for $525 so I am trying again.

Sorry, don't have paypal. Will take check or Money order (checks have to clear before shipping)
Reason for selling: I bought this lens on Ebay, was told it was new - came in original box, thought I would use it more but rarely reach for it.
My wife has recently expressed an interest in photography, so parting with this lens and getting her a K2000 so we can go out shooting together.

This lens is very nice glass - very sharp up to about 280, little less sharp to 320 or so, somewhat soft above that.
It is f/4.5 from 80-230, 5.6 above that. Why wait for the 60-250???

One of the few images I have taken with this lens - 230mm f5.6: (2/14 - additional photos added in post further down thread)

And maybe give us aperture information? I'm not familiar with the lens.

Yeah odd post. PentaxRev, edit your post and delete the email address. He's got one to sell and you want one. So send him a PM and do the deal. But the original post is old.

I just bought one of these lenses in this first series and I like it a lot. This is a very convenient focal range.

Haven't used the lens much and don't have any old photos at 300 or 400, so here are some taken as test shots today. It is cold and grey outside, so indoors with off camera flash will have to do.

Photos shot in RAW and converted/resized without additional processing by FastStone
