No takers for the 50mm M f:1.4,..?..Where are the days?..they used to be sought after...Everyone has his/her?..HOW about a 1.7 for 40$$$$$$$$$! i see....welll.. further reduced to 75 shipped in the USA,and tomorrow to the BAY...thanks
I wonder if people realize the added benefit of manual focus on a lens that offers some very creative DOF ability. I think you might get more bites if you show a picture of the actual lens, and a few examples taken with the lens. I have the f1:1.2 and was sold the minute I saw the lens and 2 examples taken with the lens.
PM replied...spyglass,thanks for the tip. i know that a picture speaks for itself ,specially in a Photography forum!..is just that i was assuming that everybody knows this lens..AAAND i am lazy!.
I would say the Pentax SMC 50mm 1.4,in any of its versions(TAKUMAR,M,A,F,FA,) is the most versatile lens ever. The M version is charming because is compact.Manual focus with a 1.4 is easy, the viewfinder is bright at all times and these lenses are so sharp that the right focus jumps in front of you.Stop Down metering is a bit of a ritual in digital bodies,I personally dont use the green button/AE to set aperture...I rather use the diaphragm shutter ,on the main shutter dial, read ,check DOF,and manually adjust..I guess helps my learnirng curve...
