[SOLD] 400mm lens and pentax-f 1.7x af adapter

As stated in previous posts, I've switched over to another system more suitable to wildlife photography, so it's time to pass my Pentax equipment on to those with a use for it.

I'll be listing two items at a time, usually one premium item with one misc. item. Listings will last 48 hours, at which time, if not sold, I'll list them on eBay.

Prices will be firm, in US$ with free shipping in North America ($10. worldwide) -insurance extra if required. If paying using PayPal, I'll split the fees 50/50.

I apologise in advance for the lack of quality of the photos. I'm not a product photographer, obviously.

First response in the thread will get the item.

The first item is the ever-popular Pentax SMC PENTAX-F 1.7X AF ADAPTER. Yes -I had TWO! I was holding onto this just in case Pentax was going to release a camera more suited to my shooting needs, but it's not looking too good.:Body shows little or no signs of use - no marks/scrapes, etc. Glass is excellent! Priced at a very reasonable $345.

Next is an uncommon 400mm lens -the TELE-ASTRANAR 400MM F6.3. Bet you've never heard of it, huh? SOLD!

This an M42 mount fixed 6.3 telephoto. Comes with removable tripod mount and generic M42 to KM adapter. Weighs less than 2 pounds and is easily hand-holdable. Manual focussing is very smooth. Body shows some minor wear, glass is excellent, 9 blades. Here's a sample shot I took this morning, resized only full frame, just resized:

$75.00 and it's yours - a cheap way to get into the 400mm range with decent results. THIS LENS IS SOLD! Thanks, Nick.

Update! I just had to try it! I put the TC on the TELE-ASTRANAR and this is what I got, shooting the same subject from the same distance:

Again, no processing, full frame, resized only. Not too shoddy, huh? You can clearly see the spider webs on the duck and the bokeh looks really decent. Talk about a cheap combo to get to, uh, 680MM!

These photos were taken with my K100D, straight JPEG's, no processing at all.

I have one of the Tele-Astranars and they are indeed great. Note that mine (and probably yours) is T-mount so you could swap the M42 T-mount for a K-mount one and not have to use a M42 adapter.

It looks like that lens makes birds look a little "plasticky"
A very interesting effect, indeed.

I have a Tele-Astranar and mine is a T-mount, too. For what it is, it's a darned good lens. I think it was originally marketed as the "Girl-watcher Special".

You're right. Here's a shot of Pamela Anderson I got just the other day!

And thank you. Now I'll have two 1.7x AF TCs which I'll hardly every use.
