I have a question about the camera. Does it do strange things when it's running low on battery? I acquired one on eBay and when I halfpress the shutter release button it winds the film but doesn't activate the shutter or the aperture. I'm wondering if it's because the batteries are low, or if it's broken.

Good luck with the sale!

@Miserere:
I acquired a used MZ locally and ran into a similar problem: auto-focus and other controls worked fine, but actuating shutter release caused film to rewind.
If someone has experience/tips/cures with this it would be welcome to hear from him/her.
