Its ok, I'm just spreading into some more older manual lenses and knew for sure the 31 would be getting no use. Its a great lens, worth too much to just have it for pride, hehe.

True. I received mine just as my K10D was being shipped to Pentax repair, so all I've done is look at and fondle it I could have used it on my film bodies, but somehow I felt I need to take the first pic with it on the K10D
Wow! That is (was) my favorite lens! That is a fantastic price for a lens worth about $1000 !!!
Oh well. By the way - since my switch to the dark side, the closest thing that I can find is a Sigma 30/1.4. It isn't as good as the 31, but it will have to do.

I tried one out on my friend's Canon this weekend. Good Sigma EX build, but nowhere near as beautiful or solid as the 31 Ltd. APS-C only too, so you can't use it on film cameras. IQ wise it seemed good wide open from what I could see on the rear LCD, so it will certainly "do", but you just won't have the beauty factor or solid build of the 31 Ltd

Did you get the Porst yet?
It is a nice lens to simply hold - the weight of high quality and all that metal... mmm.
Porst should arrive any day... I hope!

Enjoy the 1.4 of the 30 - the good news is you'll have access to just that much more bokeh
