It is THE prime! One of the best lenses Pentax ever made. Apart from amazing image quality this lens is a collectors item! Here you can see some sample photos showing what this lens can do. The photos are from PBase and the photographer is LanceB, a frequent poster of DPReview Pentax forum.

I agree I would like to see some you have taken with the lens. LanceB is an amazing photographer and most if not all his shots look great. Wondering why you are selling it. This is on lens I to have interest but think funds are frozen until after the K10. good luck on the sale. MAybe post a shot or two of the actual lens.

Hi guys,
Actually I have more than one of this lenses! (see my profile in DPReview) I’m selling them to finance the purchase of K10 and FA*300mm f/2.8
I'm selling one of my copies in ebay right now (auction is ending in two days). Here I'm selling the second copy. If I don't get the money I would like to get I will sell it later in ebay as well.
Indeed LanceB is a great photographer but I'm not a bad photographer either… so here is a sample photo.

Both lenses are in excellent shape with no visible signs of use. Unfortunately I have no photos of the actual lens but you can see the photos of the first copy in ebay. They are indedical!
Thank you for your interest
best regards
Gio

I think it is out of my range. I would love to have something that lovely, but think the price is too high for me. That would be the Rolls Royce, or Porsche, while I only have a 28-300 baby, compared to yours.

No finaly it went to a guy in Greece. Unfortunately I couldn't get the money I wanted so I sold it in a Greek forum. Thanks to K10 and K100 Pentax name has been much more popular in my country and a lot of poeple need Pentax gear
The second copy was sold in ebay for $990 to an English guy. He left a very positive feedback for me. He said that the lens was better than described You can see the auction's history here:
eBay: Pentax SMC FA* 300mm f/4.5 ED IF autofocus lens (item 160039472704 end time Oct-17-06 13:29:10 PDT)
Very soon I 'm planing to sell some other lenses and you will see a new "for sale" post.
