Additional Details
The lens was purchased a few weeks ago. I also have the sigma 100-300 and have decided to sell this due to manual focus and my preference to frame the shot with a zoom in this range and my Sigma 100-300 is hand holdable. I need the money to buy a VL 125/2.5

The lens is in good condition. Comes with the end cap, and the lens hood but no front cap. It also comes with the original lens container and the lens strap. There is some paint chips, but nothing major. There is a little motion around the aperture ring, but this is normal for this lens.

Lens: $600
Tamron 112mm Normal Filter: $100
PK/A adaptall adapter: $80 (With the A setting)
TOTAL: $780

I am not separating them, however willing to sell without the Tamron 112mm Normal Filter for $680 (I can get more at ebay for this, but I strongly recommend you get the 112mm filter as these are not easy to find, and this comes with the original box). If the buyer of the lens doesn't want it, after selling the lens, I will offer the 112mm filter for $125.

Please send me a private message if interested in the item!

Only took this lens out for one session of a 90 min shooting at the zoo. here are some shots:

There was some purple fringing where the eagle feather changes from brown to white, but as you can see it is easily removed in post procesing. CA is the only weakness of the lens, and the manual focus. But, works fine with the Pentax 1.7 AFA adapter, in fact some of the above images were taken with the AFA, but i will be putting that on sale as well.

My initial tests done with this lens and posted in the other forum: Comparing it to the sigma 100-300, performnace with all sorts of TC's and AFA.

I will most likely buy the filter from you if the buyer of the lens doesn't want it. I'll send you a pm...

This definitely is a good lens!
I used to shoot with one of these for a decade or so. I have written some comments in the lens review section.

Package Deal.

A couple of potential buyers were inquiring on a Package deal for the lens and the 1.7 afa, and at that point I was debating on whether to let go of this lens at all, and whether I had made a mistake in posting this for sale, so I refused.....now, I am 100% sure.

So, The lens + Filter + PK-A adapter and the 1.7 AFA will be $1050 + paypal fee ($1050 if you send me a money order-see feedback), I will take up the postage for ConUS. This is a FIRM price..anything less and I will gladly keep this lens.

The sale posting for the 1.7 AFA

http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/p...converter.html

I will have to give 24 hrs. for the initial interested parties who had already contacted me on the package, then it will be open for sale to others.

Thank you.

Can we spell LBA

BTW good luck with the sale. If I didn't have the Sigma I would get it. Its a great deal and the lens looks to be in excellent condition. With the P/KA and filter, WOW!.

I seen a couple 400 f/4's on ebay the last couple weeks, something I have never seen. Very tempting

Oh ya, I almost forgot. Thanks for putting it side by side the Sigma. I have always wondered about the size.

I've already agreed to the sale, just waiting for the reply from the potential buyer for the confirmation p.m., then I can finally put this in the sold section.

I've seen all those 400/4's as well...very tempting.
