[SOLD] Gossen Luna Pro F lightmeter (oldie but same features as today's models)

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Gossen Luna Pro F lightmeter (oldie but same features as today's models)

Asking Price
US$60

Item Description
Great light meter if you want to see what using one is all about. It's as accurate as today's lightmeters but is the old analog needle (set to null technique if you've ever used lab equipment in school) type.

It works for measuring incident light as well as reflected (ambient) light. Other cool features:
- gives you cine (video) measurements which takes into account frame rate
- can meter ambient out to 3 hours (for nighttime shots)
- can meter multiple flash pops (if you want to do light painting)
- you can zero the meter yourself instead of sending it back to have it calibrated

The meter gauge displays +- 3 stops so it's easy to see when you've blown out the background for product shots (needs to be 2 stops over) and lets you measure the crosslighting on a model's face.

Here's a link to the manual in case you want to see how to use it:

Additional Details
This is a used light meter so it has scratches stuffs and a few small dust bunnies under the dial..I bought it used and the previous owner used it quite a bit. None of these affect operation.

This is not the Luna Pro non-F which doesn't support flash measurement nor is it the SBC which requires an expensive flash metering attachment.

I don't have the money for this But just curious...what battery does it use? I Googled and came up with a 9V?

Good luck...everyone should have a light meter since cameras can be fooled easily Wish I could get it...

It is a standard 9v battery.

This is a terrific light meter - I still use mine as a reference and it is 20+ years old.

Best,
John

yep, standard 9V battery. That's why I mentioned the other Luna Pro models...the other ones use weird batteries that are a PITA to get. This is probably the best oldie to use for today.
Digital light meters are 3x the cost for comparable features (though I don't know any that can measure exposures into hours :-)
