This is optically and mechanically the same lens as the FA 28-105 with Tamron's BBAR coating rather than the SMC. Paired with a DA 16-45 it pretty much covers everything that doesn't need a 200mm telephoto lens. IQ is comparable to the DA and close-up capability is good as well. My FA version is almost always mounted when traveling by auto. I find it sharper than the Tamron 28-200. (comment removed by Moderator)

Thank you Pacerr for the comment. It's a cheap lens but extremely good. The only down side is when used a low light.

your Tamron 28-105, I viewed the PDF as the other links are broken,

this may be a NOOB question but from the images I see I cant tell if it has an A position on the aperture. is this an auto aperture lens?

I'm looking for a second lens to complement the kit lens on my K-M
