Why not use USPS? Should be only about $38 for 10-day service, fully insured, with online tracking and signature confirmation upon delivery.

They couldn't guarantee tracking and delivery confirmation once it got into the other country. They said it usually isn't a problem but that really isn't good enough when I'm shipping a ~$400 lens

I find a lot of times even if something isn't guaranteed by the Post Office, it's done 100% of the time still. There's always express mail which *is* guaranteed, and only about $10 more. Last time I got quoted on UPS international postage it was somewhere around $70-80, so you're still saving quite a lot from what I remember.

But, of course, it's totally your call, as it's your lens Just trying to offer some advice.

Thanks for the shipping tips guys. I'm just a little hesitant when it is a pretty $$ lens and there is even a chance of not getting tracking/delivery confirmation. I'll just wait it out for a North American buyer.

I'm also now waiving the shipping fee to the US!

Thanks
John

I'll gladly take it off your hands for your asking price! I could use another. As everyone knows, public agreement with the seller's asking price = unbreakable contract. I'll send my shipping address forthwith.

The Hope Diamond was sent US Registered Mail. Should be good enough for a lens.

It isn't USPS that I worry about.. and I'm sure that the sender of the Hope Diamond knew the other party.

If for what ever reason the tracking and/or signature isn't done in the other country then there is potential for someone to say they didn't get the lens. Likely, probably not I agree but it isn't like I'm hard pressed for the money so I don't need to take any extra risk. If someone wants to pay the extra for UPS that guarantees tracking and signature then I'm game

Thanks for the bump though
