Item Description
I bought this lens new from ebay. It's in excellent cosmetic condition but I'd rate the optics as 'good' only.

It has the FA lens "tiny bubbles" anomaly, which seems to appear once in a while. However these bubbles never appeared in my images and doesn't seem to affect much.
FA 43 Ltd bubbles... Do I need to return?.

There's a circular smudge on the rear element of the lens, I'm not sure what caused it, might be my rubber rear cap rubbing against it. I can't clean it with lens pen but heard that it's possible that a tiny bit of windex on paper towel might fix this. I'm not going to try this so you should use your own judgment. This smudge has never appeared on my images.

There's a ~ .5cm silver(?) thread stuck inside the lens where I think is outside the image plane, so it shouldn't affect the images. I dont think removing it should be any problem if you decide to open it.

Comes with Front and Back caps, boxes, and paperwork

What do mean by the bubbles appearing once in a while?- Is it after you clean the lens, or are you not able to clean them off at all?

If you can't clean them off, it seems that they might* be stains that were aquired while cleaning the lens (residual cleaning chemical stains), before coating the lens, during the manufacturing process. (I worked in an optics clean room... sometimes those sort of stains aren't visible until after the coating is applied, if not inspected at the just the precise angle/under precise lighting.)

Either way, I was wondering if you could post some photos taken with the lens (please), as I am not sure how those spots would affect picture quality, if at all.

I mean once in a while as in most people doesn't seem to have bubbles on their FA 50mm; just me, that other guy with the FA 43, and another on this forum with an FA 77, which led me to believe that the FA manufacturing process has something to do with it. You probably know better than me, though.

The link copypaste from flickr didnt seem to work... Flickr: Search endiro's photostream Also, here's the link to that FA 43 thread... it didnt copy from the original thread either FA 43 Ltd bubbles... Do I need to return?

Except the last picture, everything is from this lens. I haven't used it as much on digital as just can't get used to the fov, but I have never seen the bubbles from actual use, film or digital.

The lens is pending shipping tomorrow unfortunately though. Thanks for the interest!
