Prices include Paypal fee and USPS Priority shipping + insurance to US address.

Both lenses are in excellent condition, mechanically and optically.

Glass is clear, no fungus. The are some tiny specks of internal dust, but nothing unusual.

Aperture blades are snappy, no oil.

You have 1 week to return the item in the same condition for refund. If I misrepresent the item, I'll pay for the shipping+insurance cost both ways. If you simply change your mind, you'll pay for the shipping+insurance cost both ways.

How are they compared?

How are the image quality of the two lenses compared? Very curious. Thanks.

I've never done side-by-side IQ compare between the two. These are my feelings:

Physically, the A* is much more compact. Its filter size is 77mm vs the Takumar's 86mm. Edit: Wrong data about the Takumar. Both lenses have 77mm filter thread diameter.

IQ-wise, by the time you close down to F/5.6, they are comparable. The A* is sharper at full aperture.

The Takumar is more prone to CA, but has it under control by F/8.
