Item Description
Pentax SMC K 17mm f:4 Fisheye lens..... Dead Mint, Like New. Appears never to have been used, or even mounted on a camera! Comes with original front & rear caps, (box & packing material show normal 30 year wear). The only reason I'm selling is that I have the M42 screwmount version. Consequently, this lens never sees any action. The only reason I purchased it in the first place was the incredible condition it's in. Money matters, however, dictate that I sell it in order to purchase another lens I'll actually use.
Price drop from $330 to $305 + $10 Shipping..... USA only. New parameters for a possible trade.....
Instead of the previous request for a 20mm lens (I just picked one up), I will accept a Pentax M42 screwmount 24mm Super-Multi-Coated or Super Takumar lens in similar (or as close as possible) condition to the lens I am selling plus a cash amount to be agreed upon if & when such a trade is proposed.

I have a general question about fisheye lenses. Since because the lenses portrude out like that, is it even possible to use a protective UV filter on it? Or will it vignette?

No. For this reason, this lens has 4 internal tiny behind the lens filters built in, right next to the aperture blades, controlled by a thin ring around the front circumference, difficult to see in the photos.

A great lens!

Any one shooting film should snatch this one up.

It is great on APS-C as well.

Very sharp lens with very close focus.

I wholeheartedly agree..... If I wasn't selling this lens, I would buy it myself!

+1 for the positive endorsements. I've got the m42 version and it's stellar.

Good luck with the sale, and good work to whomever buys this.

$25 price drop to $305. There are currently two 17mm K mount Fisheyes up on Ebay currently, one selling for $425, & one which just sold for $550, neither of which could possibly be in better condition than this one is. Don't expect it to go any lower. If it doesn't sell for this price, I'll use it as a peephole viewer on my front door or a gearshift lever handgrip on my car.
