Many awesome macro's! Gave me some great ideas for myself! 2 of my 3 were macros.

Some are not bad, but overall they are very cliched. Sorry.

Agreed, couple of good ones, most are average

Fair enough comment, but I just hope those who think they are average have entries and that they are better than most.

Neat selection - something to learn from in most of them.

I think the term 'average' relates to the overall interpretation of the theme of 'patterns', not necessarily the quality of the images presented. When voting I looked at the images to see what I interpret as a pattern, which is not the same as everyone else.
I wish I could take images like these. I do not have the photographers 'eye' ...yet, but I know what I like in an image and here I am looking for a pattern.

Bonjour,
How incredible a single word "pattern" could be so nicely illustrated
As always, it has been a tough job to pick up three pictures out of the selection
Congratulations to all of the participants

Definitely not an easy call
The interpretations on the theme (as previously mentioned) were as intriguing as the images, and all of the submitted images were fascinating.
Settling on just 3 was definitely painful, when there were clearly 5 "must wins," and 3 more "but what about this one?"s.

Couldn't have said it better.
Thanks Bruce.
I don't have an entry. And, if I did, most, if not all, would far exceed my level of expertise/creativity.
Nice work all.
