[CLOSED] Vivitar 285 hot shoe

I'm looking for a broken Viv 285 for parts. Actually only looking for the hot-shoe base with the red button.

Thanks

There's actually a part that's commonly available:

The Camera Hunter: Vivitar 283 or 285 Metal Flash Hot Shoe

Install details at:

Good luck!

Thanks deuces. I had seen these and didn't realise the front was the button. I wanted to stick to an original replace if I could. All the ones I've seen keep referring to the 283/285 as if it was the same base - it isn't.

Second link doesn't work - would you please recheck it for me.
Thanks

The photo.net link works for me. but I got it by searching for "285hv metal hot shoe" on google, clicking the first link (photo.net), then clicking on the link in the bottom-most post.

I figure the metal hot shoe is a popular upgrade because the OEM plastic one is not robust? Perhaps the fact that you need to replace yours reinforces my theory?

You're right there - the flash is top heavy and the base was quite flimsy. I've order some of the metal ones.
Thanks deuces
