Wanted: Extension Tubes
Listed: 11-03-2009, 07:31 AM [Contact Member]

I am looking for extension tubes to use with with my K10D. I don't need auto focus but do want the "A" contact to work. These are the possibilities I have found:

Kenko Uniplus 25PZ-AF
Vivitar Ext Tube AT23
Pentax Auto extension tube set "K"

If you have any of these and can confirm the "A" contact works and would be willing to part with them please contact me. It doesn't have to be one of these three but the "A" contact working is a requirement.
Thanks,
John

Sometimes you can find a bargain price on a 4-element 2x tele-extender with the AE pins. Most of them allow you to simply unscrew the optical assembly leaving you with a fully functional 24-25mm (#2) extension ring which can be restored to 2x function in a pinch.

Mine happens to be a Tokina I picked up on eBay for $17. Saw one recently with a hazed element go for about $4.

A 1.4x TC usually equates to a 12-14mm tube but they're harder to find in the bargain bin.

They made a manual and auto version. The name auto was applied to that set before the A series of lenses were created and this is what causes confusion. The difference in the 2 sets is minor differences in tube length and the auto set has linkages to allow stop down metering with M series lenses (and of course A and k). Vivitar also had a set out that had the linkages for M series lenses.

Scroll down this page for some info on the Pentax tubes.

He has a set of Vivitar tubes that may have the linkages for M lenses.
