Weekly Challege #103 - "Flowers (B&W)"

Flower shots are always beautiful due to there bright vidid colors and great detail. In the recent months I have ran across a hand full of flower pics in B&W. I figured for this weeks challenge that would be the theme, Flowers in Black and White. Im looking foward to seeing what you guys come up with.

Challenge concludes midnight July 28th, next Tuesday. I will judge the photos the following day.
Have fun everyone, happy shooting!!

-----------------------------------------
The fine print....

1. Post ONE photo (max 1000x1000).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread, and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and chose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera will do or a Samsung DSLR.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.

Took this about a month ago and played around with a B&W version then. I think the papery texture of the petals suits the conversion.

I wear glasses and can't get it to work for me. Will try at home, work environment being what it is.

I too wear glasses but after removing them, I still could not cross my eyes to see the 3D effect.

Wearing glasses has got nothing to do with the 3D effect.

Which technique to use depends on the order of the images. With those posted here, you need to look at them cross-eyed (with the reverse order you'd have to look past the screen). Try this
  1. put your index finger in the middle of the two stereo images
  2. focus on the finger
  3. move the finger towards your nose, keep focusing on the finger
  4. in the background, you'll notice the two images moving towards each other
  5. when the images roughly coincide, move your finger out of sight
  6. the image(s) will be out of focus since you were focusing on your finger
  7. keep staring at the fuzzy image(s) even if it doesn't make sense yet, but resit the urge to adjust your eyes to see them normally
  8. tilt your head slightly to the left or right until the images perfectly align/converge
  9. after a short while your brain will adjust and you'll see the images in sharp focus
  10. the image in the middle will have the 3D effect
If you have never done this before, you'll need several attempts and patience.
I don't use the index finger, BTW, that's just an aid to get you cross-eyed.

I know I'm too late for the judging, but just stumbled on this thread and wanted to add my B&W flower photo. :-)
