Goodbye Canon, Hello Pentax

For Valentine's Day, I broke up with Canon and decided to pursue a relationship with Pentax. Selling the last of my Canon lenses to a co-worker this morning solidified the split. I ordered two K10D bodies, grips, flashes, and the DA* zooms just before the rebate promo ended. I found a silver 77mm Limited on eBay for a good price the other day and had to give in.

I haven't had the opportunity to play with my new toys as of yet due to a few projects at home that I need to complete for my wife, but I should be up and about shortly.

I look forward to learning and sharing with this community. In the several weeks that I have been lurking, it appears to be a nice place to hang out.

Cheers!

Welcome to the forum.
What were the reason for breaking up -- too many headaches?

I actually enjoyed Canon. She was just a little too "high maintenance" in terms of costs. All things considered, Pentax seemed to be a smarter choice for me.

Welcome to the group...as a fellow new comer I think you will like it here. I have been shooting with Pentax for a while now and think you have made a wise decision.
Nice Destro image too...

Thanks, migz55. In my opinion, Destro has always been the ultimate "pimp daddy." He's been my idol since 1982.

I'm sure I'll love the K10D, flyer. My wife was out running errands with my son this morning, so I was finally able to play with it for a little bit.

There will be more weapons added to the arsenal. I just want to familiarize myself with the characteristics of these 3 lenses for now. I had quite a few Canon lenses, so selling those left me with a good chunk of change to use towards the more affordable Pentax gear.

Wow! That's some serious LBA you have going on there, tux09802. Where were you able to score the DA* 200mm? I thought they weren't being released until the summer? If you've got a source, I'd like to buy one before my Williamsburg, VA trip in April.

Welcome to the site/group, as I'm sure you'll love it here. But I think, I may be wrong, Tux only has the ones in the green.

Thanks for the welcome. I see that his signature has changed since my last post. A good thing, too, because my jealousy almost prompted me to wipe out my son's college fund.
