Loving my first Pentax!!!

Hi there,
I am a Brazilian student currently living in the Netherlands, photography is my hobby.
My experience in photography comes from shooting with a canon 20D from my brother but I always liked the feeling in the pentax line.
This last week I finally bought my very first own Dslr, a brand new K10D, it was the last one in my local shop and I was able to get a pretty good deal...

So far I'm loving my Pentax... and hope to start posting my pictures real soon!!!

Now your help: I have the kit lens and I am planning to get the DA 50-200 because is cheap( I'm a student) and a FA 50 1.4. If anyone have one those and wants to sell please send me a PM.

Greetings from the Netherlands,
Eric.

Look for an A 50mm F2.0 or F1.7 and save a few bucks. I have the latter and it's just a wonderful lens to have.

Instead of an FA 50mm f/1.4 you could try to get a A 50mm f/1.4 (not much cheaper, but still) or a M 50mm f/1.4. The more manual, the cheaper they get and I understand the optical formula hasn't really changed. Some even state their old manual lenses are better than the FA...

Welcome to the fold! That sounds like a nice set of lenses, I had for a long time just the K100D with 18-55, FA50/1.4, and 50-200. The 50-200 is nice and light and you'll always carry it with you. If I had a choice, I'd probably get the FA35/2.0 first - I find the 50 a touch too long. As others have said, you can also try find an A-series lens which is manual focus but exposure is automatic.

Also, some great bargains can be found on the 16-45/4 at the moment. It is a much better lens than the 18-55 and the extra 2mm are great if you love wide angle.

Enjoy!
