Hello from Romania

Well, this is such a nice forum, so I can't stay away

There is not much I can say about myself. I work in IT, I've started into photography few years ago as a hobby (but I'm still a beginner)... that's about it.

From time to time I also post on dpreview or pdml; I'm also quite active on a few Romanian forums - Pentax is not a very popular brand here, but things are changing.

Welcome to the forum Alex, there are quite a few IT people here (myself included). I started photography back in the 70's but still consider myself a beginner because I let it drop for quite a few years.

Looking foward to seeing some pictures!

I visited Transilvania last spring and would go back this very minute if it was possible. Really loved it! The people were so warm-hearted and friendly.

Glad you chose Pentax, you can't go wrong there.

You know, I've studied the major brands carefully for several months, the camera (ergonomics, performance), the availability of lenses and accessories, service and support... yeah, sure! Actually only Pentax had a 'official' store and an authorized service unit - which were not located on the other side of the town, as e.g. for Minolta

But I'm very happy with my 'choice'; I love the clean, easy to use design of the Pentax cameras - and the K10D is simply beautiful.
Of course, except for the most expensive/exotic ones, our local/online stores will usually have Canikons on stock. With Pentax is more difficult, however the K10D was 'available' (small batches, which were instantly sold) since late november/ early december. Pentax is more and more popular here!
