I think the only thing that would stop me from buying it is poor noise performance.
let us know when yours arrives

I waited too, well waited to get a hold of the camera in my hands. I wanted the *ist D when it was first released, but like the *ist Film, I found it too small for my hands...Waited impatiently, and after 2 years of going to the Expo, and complaining to the reps..."when are you briging out a new DSLR body?!" I almost jumped ship to Nikon when they brought out the D200.
ray of hope came out when the K DSLR bodies came out, and then the bomb.....
10 MP body at Photokina (I think)....
then.....more and more info came about...
Final straw came when I was able to play w/ it at the photo expo, and that following Monday, went out to Adorama (bout 2 blocks away from my Job) and placed my pre-order (im number 51)
The dude that helped me remembered me from when I bought my *ist body from him a few years ago...
he was like "damn, I gotta be careful w/ the knowledgeable customers"
Before I talked to him, he was selling a Rebel XTi to a couple going on vacation, selling them extra stuff....I was just chuckling inside....heh...
anywhoo..placed my order for the k10 body, extra battery and the Grip.
Prelim shots (i've seen on DPreview) on the ISO 1600 was really good (on the beta firmware too) . I think i've used film over ISO 800 once....
For the price and what you get, this camera will be the value leader in that range...hands down...
