Greetings from Central Florida

Hello to the forum. I'm newly retired, moved from Texas to Florida, and getting back into SLR photography with a new K200d. I'm an old-time Pentax fan, having bought an Asahi Pentax S1a, with 35 and 135 lenses and the clip-on, linked light meter, back in 1968. My wife and I used that camera, and loved it, for years. We had it reconditioned back in the early '90s, but unfortunately we lost it in a fire last year.

I have the 18-55 kit lens with the K200d, but will be acquiring a telephoto, probably the 50-200 or something in that range, for outdoor, nature, and wildlife photography. Can't wait to get it out in a canoe on the Wekiva River.

Until then I'll have fun taking pix of the grandson. I'm looking forward to sharing photos in the future.

Welcome! You've moved to photo-op heaven!

Having spent a lot of time on the Rivers of Central Florida, I think acquiring a Pentax DA 55-300mm lens should be high on your list. It is a superb combination of light weight, ease of use, and superb image quality. It nicely complements your kit lens' range.
