Talking Pentax Vet

My first love was an Olympus OM-1n which I still have. It doesn't work any more but I can't throw it away. No sir. That would be a crime. I loved my little Oly, but he was an expensive beast, with expensive friends, in an already expensive hobby.

I made the move to Pentax about 10 years ago. Starting with an MZ-30, which I love and still have - a very underrated camera I think. Went through a few bodies, MZ-5n and couple of others. Moved to digital with the Ei-2000 - now who remembers that baby? It had live view, and a host of other features well ahead of its time (swivelling LCD screen anyone?). I liked it especially because the top plate (i.e. the controls), were more or less identical to my MZ-30! What a good idea! Its only let down was the non interchangeable lens.

I moved on to the ist *ds, what a fantastic camera! Some lucky taxi driver is probably still using it for his holiday photo's.

I'm now the proud owner of a K10D, various primes and zooms, a pocket full of gadgets courtesy of E-Bay, and an insatiable curiosity and love of photography in all its forms.

Welcome Mike. Hope you enjoy your time on the forum.
The K10D is a fine little machine. Look forward to seeing some of your results here.

We just had Guy Fawkes night, so tonight was my annual chance to grab some firework shots -

Fireworks - a set on Flickr

This is probably my fave -
