Another from DP Review

Hi all,

I see lots of familiar names here, which is good.

Totally pissed off with Phil for banning Asad on such a childish matter.

Hopefully we are a little more democratic here.

Hi Lance,

Nice to see you here, too.

I agree with you about what happened to Asad, and share the same hope for more democracy.

Hi Lance, big migration happening here. I just read the thread regarding the flower sending theatrical. Quite ridiculous.

Great to see you here too

Hi Lance!

Good to have you here, too! First case I've ever known where the thought of sending flowers would tick off so many people!

Hey and welcome Lance. I have to say that my respect for Phil has dropped like a rock in the past few days. I have always known the bias was there, but I didn't really know about the thin skin and childishness. Hoping we like this spot quite a lot better.

Tahnks Guys and Gals

Thanks to all for the lovely welcome, I really appreciate it.

Looks as though the same great crowd are here from DP Review and one of the best reasons to be here. We certainly had a very good bunch of knowledgeable, kind and helpful members on DPR and I therefore hope that many will migrate here so we can continue the great tradition.

Another reason is that there is a photo gallery specific for the Pentax people, something that I think would be a boon for DP Review. As much as I like the tech side of things on DPR, it is the friendly chatter and the photos from the members that I like most.

What happened to Asad on DPR is unforgiveable. Phil has lost it IMO.

Cheers to all and let's hope we can make this a better forum than DPR.

Welcome Lance,
It's good to have another Aussie here, I am probably going to be in Sydney for Christmas - will have to track down some of your shots for inspiration.

I am also a refugee from Dpreview (was red&blue) more of a lurker than a participator but was banned by Phils off sider Simon for commenting unfavourably on one of his articles.
Anyway sorry to see nothing has changed over there but glad to see you here.

I must agree.

I wasn't a big poster at dpr, but I did read a lot.
Watching Lance, then Mousehill, and now Asad (3 photographers for whom I have a lot of respect) get banned is pushing me to the limit.

(This is my first post here so I hope I did it right)
Now to learn how this site works . . .

Great to se you here Lance.
You and many of the other oldies at DPR helped me a lot when I decided on a camera and then when I tried to come to grips with it. I guess I was lucky to get all the help before the K100D/K10D avalanche hit. I have not posted a lot here but I found this place to be a bit easier to find what you look for and there are actually people posting photos from other models than K100/K10.

Cheers

Eddie
