I like the lamp with icicles; however, I find the bright background spots to be somewhat distracting.

I think this subject has a lot of potential. I really like the icicles hanging off the lamp. I think the compositional part is nice too, and the shallow dof makes the background simple. I would try to shoot this at a different time of day, so the lighting is better. This would help with the background being too light, possibly, and it would help to get those bright spots off the top of the lamp. I think your angle and everything is great, you just need better lighting conditions.

It may be slightly tilted a 1 degree rotation counter clokcwise. Nice framing. The bokeh is a little noisy maybe some noise ninja or similair product. Overall I like this shot.
