Title Country stars
Description Evening falling on the outskirts of Toowoomba, a growing regional town of Australia, looking out over old farmland, soon to be taken over by new residential developments.
The land was opportunistically illuminated by 3 cars' lights sweeping over the landscape by turning into the road parallel from a nearby T intersection.

Captured by the DA 16-45 at f/5.6 ISO 200 for 40 minutes

One supposes the circular white flecks are stars: why are they circular and not longitudinal?

An excellent picture; even the car headlights have not provoked flare.

Thanks for the comment.

The circular pattern occurs due to the orientation of the camera to the south. I'm no astrophysicist, so I can't explain it well, though I understand the stars rotate around a southern pole, hence forming a circular pattern.

cool shot. a longer exposure would probably result in even more spectacular trails.
