Wadi Rum is an area in Jordan, where Laurence of Arabia gathered the many Arab tribes together to trow out the Osman rulers (Turks) of the middle east.
Many of the families of the kings / Sheikhs that supported him in this fight, now rule the middle east countries.

Wadi Rum has some very nice scenery. You will find springs and pre-historic stone carvings.

I'm using this picture as my desktop wallpaper.
