In the Jordan desert you can find medieval "castles" (Qasr), made by the local Arab kings.
Some for defence purposes, other to escape the ruling of the religious leaders. The bathhouse of this castle is early Islam, it has paintings of naked women, men, animals, hunting parties etc. Very much unlike the later Islam periods.
