Voting for our February "Birds" photo contest has just ended, and we are happy to announce the winners! This time around we saw over 200 submissions, and it was a very difficult task to pick out just three winners. Therefore, we invite you to browse all of the contest submissions, as they are quite breathtaking!
Per the poll results, in first place was forum member enoeske with his headshot of a Bald Eagle:
His photo is now being featured in our Premier Gallery, where you may also leave a comment. This month's winner will receive a $50 B&H Photo gift card, and the runner-up a pack of premium photo paper!
In second and third place, respectively, were forum members Atrej and netrex with two photos of birds in flight (left to right):

The reason it won is it was really good while also being first. Like I did, I imagine most people saw it and immediately voted for it.
By the time you get past 120 you don't look too carefully, and by the time you get to 193 you might not even have any votes left (and find it too tiresome to re-allocate them all, even as much as you like it).
This problem is compounded by the fact that there were so many great entries, which is a real compliment to our members!
Congrats to the winners - great shots. Interesting that there were only about as many voters as photos. I was surprised that #193 (Magpie) didn't do much better (it wasn't my submission!).
All three of those photos are extremely good. If this were a judged contest rather than a readers' vote contest, I think the judges would have had brain funk trying to pick the best. I love the third place snap best, myself, but only marginally compared to the other two and several others that did not get the votes.
congratulation, it was my first choice to, really sharp
That eagle shot is amazing.
