In a press release posted earlier today, Pentax announces some welcome news: official price reductions on the Pentax Q and 645D as well as instant rebates on the K-30 DSLR, K-01 mirrorless, and 6 different lenses. Furthermore, the lens rebates double if you buy a new Pentax DSLR at the same time!
We summarize the price reductions and rebates in the tables below. We believe that the 645D's price reduction deserves special attention, as this is the first time any kind of deal has been made for this camera.

These rebates will take effect at all authorized Pentax retail outlets starting September 1st - no forms required!

I am so frustrated at the price increases. With rebate they are more than no rebates before. I chatted with BH Photo and told me that the prices were before were prices they negotiated with Pentax and they are no longer valid because they HAVE to use the rebates off of their retail pricing. I am fixing to switch back to my 5D Mark II because of all this lens pricing crap. I should have bought the 60-250 on Friday. Thanks Pentax.
How is this article still sitting here without correction. Title should be Rebates and Price INCREASES!
This is ridiculous... Guess I am not getting a Da* 50-135... Put out a rebate only to raise the price? Maybe it's time to drop Pentax all together.
I so want the Q, but since discovering the focus peek via the info button on my K-5 coupled w/the Vivitar 7mm f/3.5 fisheye that turns the camera into a point & shoot w/incredibly character and has hardly left the camera since I got it, I'm not sure I'll every use the Q. ;)
Please change the prices to indicate the amazing price RISES in this sale. This is news worthy in itself, the FIRST sale in history where the customer gets to pay more!
Yep. The DA* 55 is $725 AFTER the rebate at B&H. It was $670 yesterday BEFORE the rebate. Smoke and mirrors.
Same here. Pentax really sucks...
This makes me so angry. The price of the 50-135 is DOUBLE the sale price that it should be. Way more than I am willing to pay for it (or that I even have the funds for)

Sorry - NOT good news. B&H prices with the discounts are now MORE EXPENSIVE (sometimes MUCH more) than their August non-discounted prices because they are applying the discounts to Pentax's full retail price. Bummer!
Good news!
These rebates won't go live until tomorrow (9/1).
Can't find K-01 for $549 or less. Seems to be $629 at supplied B&H link.
Sounds like a great marketing plan to dovetail with recent launches of the K30, and the Photokina announcement of the K5 replacement
This a USA-only thing?
•Body: $200 off ($549 or less)
•40mm XS kit: $300 off ($799 or less)
The 40mm XS adds $250 to the K-01 body price ?
Finally Pentax makes the push for Weather Resistance as being a unique selling point!
The DA* series of lenses now needs to be expanded ASAP to include more primes. Pentax could quite easily make the DA* series to be APS-C lenses only. An APS-C series would allow them to commit to f/2.8 zooms and f/1.4-f/2 primes with great performance - while also holding the line on prices.
The FA* lenses could still be dangled as full-frame compatible - and from 55mm+ the DA* and FA* could have the same optical formulas - maybe just better Quality Control to allow for better edge/corner quality.
OK, I'll be the first to connect the dots.... Could the price drops on the Q and 645D be a last push to sell remaining stock before their replacements are announced for the up coming photographic expo?
