Now that Monday is here, we can finally take a look at the state of the Pentax K-30's availability in the US. Currently, no retailers have all of the K-30 kits in stock. Most notably, it doesn't seem that white and blue bodies are available separately yet. However, the 18-55mm kit is available in all three colors, and one store has the 18-135mm kit in stock.
The K-30 is not yet available from the Pentax Web Store, Amazon .co.uk, or Beach Camera. If you run in to any other retailers that do have it in stock, or see the K-30 locally, please let us know in the K-30 forum.
The K-30 body does not seem to have sold out anywhere yet, but we are keeping our fingers crossed that it will do better than past Pentax bodies in terms of popularity among beginners and amateurs. The table below summarizes the current K-30 availability:

From what we currently know, the white and blue 18-55mm lens kits do not come with black and blue lenses (they are the standard black version). This is unlike the Pentax K-r, which had colored bodies bundled with colored lenses.
You can expect us to post an in-depth Pentax K-30 review in the coming weeks!

@dominikkolendo: Thank you. That clears up things :-)
@isb
it means that if they theoretically receive 100 cameras and have 90 pre-orders, then they will only sell 10 once its in stock.
really it's jsut a way to secure your money, though if it's a "hot" item that you fear may sell out it's a good way to make sure you get one of the first. either way, they will ship the camera as if you were the first person to buy one the day it went on regular sale... though sometimes places like amazon ship early so you get it on your doorstep the day it goes on sale.
@dominikkolendo: Thanks. Pre-order I am familiar with as I have placed one for the K-30. So what is coming soon. Does that mean, you can't pre-order it or does that mean those who have pre-ordered will be getting it soon?
@ isb.deep
pre-order means you can pay up front to reserve one before it's in stock.
Newbie question: Difference between pre-order and coming soon ?
I just ordered my new K-30 (Orange) a couple days ago! Can't wait for it to arrive.
@Adam: That seems to be entirely country/area specific. Here in Finland, ALL the kits will be sold with ONLY WR lenses, and we will get All colors (blue, black, white) with the 18-135mm WR kit and all colors with the 18-55mm WR kit. But no sign of any kit with the 55-300mm.
Well I'm going to tell myself it's the demand :D
Thanks for the quick reply!
It's not because of overwhelming demand, just not all kits seem to have been shipped out, and the quantities seem to vary a lot as well.
Hey Adam, here's a question: Is the lack of availability due to low production and "trickling out" of the products, or simply such an overwhelming demand that Pentax can't keep up?
I'd prefer the Red body to match my existing.
All lens kits except for the 18-135mm kit include non-WR DA L lenses.
Is the 18-55/55-300mm Black Kit ($1149) coming with the WR 18/55 or the DA-L version??
