Why is there a question mark behind count down? Could there be something more? A K5 MkII? A K300??
Ash I only have Pentax camera and lenses since film days , but lately it feels like a compromise, I am not talking about mega pixels , I am talking bout focus speed and accuracy for example. I many shots I miss out and so on. this is where Pentax needs to improve the most. and also I am bitter BC Olympus got the OMD-5
The discerning enthusiast will not care as much about the megapixels as they will about the feel, the weight, the performance and the ease of use of the camera they will want to get. Saying that Pentax is not inspiring this clientelle is ignoring the past success of all their previous dSLRs (not to mention their film SLRs). The K30 is a welcome addition to build on the virtues of the old K200D.
Pentax is no longer inspiring for enthusiastic photographers, (which supposed to be it's main clients) this year we have some of the best cameras in decades coming out. I really hope pentax will show us something else soon
The new Nikon D3200 costs $700 and has a 24.2 megapixel sensor. Where does this leave the k-30 with its 16-megapixel sensor?
Teedee ; i also think of upgrading from k200d. The K5 was very attractive ; the only cons that made me waited was the unclear future of Pentax but now i think we can be confident. If the K-30 is out soon, there will be a successor to the K5 ; too close specs and i presume, better video and other improvment will make the K5 show is age. I think the K5 replacement will be too pro for me, so bring it on !

There is already a K01 and K5 with similar specs... why another? I don't see the point...
I'm excited about this camera. I would have bought the k-r, but held off because of the focusing issues. Hopefully this camera doesn't have surprise flaws. It might be a good thing I was forced to wait because this camera is even more perfect for my needs.
