I am excited about this camera! The zoom, the cool looking design! The price looks good, there may be less expensive P&S but if the picture quality is up there this would be a terrific camera for work or play, when a DSLR is just too much.
guys, it just a basic P&S, for average consumer. Every brand renew it's P&S line every year, Pentax do exactly the same as Nikon, Canon, Sony, Fuji, Kodak, etc ...
So stop complaining like spoiled children ...
This is their innovation? A button on the side? A button? On the side?
The writing is on the wall for compact P&S, Pentax needs to get serious and fast.
Does anyone have any info if the sensor in this is the same as in the Sony DSC-HX9V?
Should have been 10MP and better Dynamic range
16 MP on a compact is a last year news
This... is the new camera we were all waiting for? A compact? Sure is mirrorless...
but design-wise..it follows somewhat the Linhof 220. Question is, will the ILC models be patterned after this too?
@internetpilot: If it has an orientation sensor it would be easy to disable the appropriate shutter release button. Now, if such a function were to be implemented is another question.
Good, clean design. We'll see how well it performs but I like what I see.
I'm looking forward to learning more about the hand-helf night snap mode. I've only used auto-helf. Adam ??
Nice!
Buhuu! 16 degapixels..
If it takes a half decent photo it will be the perfect travel companion.
That second shutter button looks like it would be annoying more than useful.
Wow! 16 megapixels!!!
