Ricoh has produced printers for many years mainly as OEM manufacturers to other brands, but has now decided to market a monster printer in their own name, Ricoh Pro L4000. At the trade show the printer was busy prnting 645D images of impressive quality!

The print head is of a decent size one must say!

That's not a monster printer, Océ (now owned by Canon) makes printers too big to fit through your garage door ;)
It's still a very nice machine though, would love to hang some prints of that size in my house. If you print, print big!
Wow....makes my 24 inch HP look very inadequate !!
I'll hazard a guess that what he is standing on is designed to be a floor product (there are some fantastic printing media products out there now) and what a great way of promoting it....by puting it on the floor at a trade show like this.
Why is he stepping on the print? :P
I wonder how much would they ask for it. Allthou I would max on 24*36 with my curent camera I would like to go bigger sometimes without stiching prints to get there
Want!
Another good sign. Let's hope Ricoh brings this to the consumer/semi-pro market with printers that fit in well with Pentax cameras. For example, Ricoh could introduce printers with features designed specifically for Pentax cameras, like direct printing from DNG RAW files. This approach parallels Canon, with the special HD Movie Print feature available only when a Canon camera is connected, and can reinforce the relationship between Ricoh and Pentax from a consumer standpoint, bringing more consumers to Pentax.
Big, but not GIANT! I think you guys are exaggerating. I have a HP Designjet 510 here in my office that is just about 80% the volume of this one, and it ain't THAT big.
@Dunc's it uses latex ink, so no worries ;)
hmmm...not sure about standing on a print though...?
lol
now let's see how K-5 IIs images come out of that...
Kudos - Go Ricoh. There is a symmetry in being both in the imaging and printing business.
the price please?
I wonder if it is CMYK, CcMmYyK, or if it prints white also?
Edit: Google told me that it is CMYK with White. And it looks like the cartridges are 440cc.
impressive!
i wonder how many prints you can do with one cartrigde, and how much ink does it cary :D
